Quantros Concludes 4th Annual Users Group On Patient Safety and Quality in Healthcare

Conference Advances Conversation on Patient Safety, Quality PerformanceWith Lineup of Renowned Presenters

January 22, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - Quantros, a leading provider of real-time quality, safety and risk management, and accreditation and compliance solutions for the healthcare industry, concluded its 4th Annual Quantros User Group Meeting which convened some of the nation’s renowned healthcare thought and practice leaders in patient safety and quality improvement.

The annual two-day conference, has become a nexus for those wishing to advance the cause of patient safety and quality improvement  and learn from their peers. At the conference, users gained valuable insight on key topics in the area of safety and risk management, quality and performance improvement reporting, and accreditation and compliance.

This year’s conference was “spectacular,” according to Sanjaya Kumar, MD, President and CMO of Quantros, adding that, “The speakers, many of whom are also Quantros clients, were exceptional and the participants received the benefit of their peers’ experiences. As Quantros continues to grow, we will further expand within the healthcare community using our solutions to the betterment of healthcare safety, quality and performance improvement.”

Glenn Mitchell, MD, MPH, Vice President of Clinical Safety at Sisters of Mercy Health System, delivered the keynote presentation, “Outside Influences on Healthcare,” which covered the status and future of quality and safety reporting in the U.S. health system. He was followed by Elizabeth A. Duthie, RN, PhD, Director of Patient Safety at NYU Hospitals Center,  who presented “Using Evidence to Create Safer Systems” at the plenary session.

Concurrent breakout sessions featured “Core Measures: Barriers to Performance and Implications of Non-Compliance” by Mark Michelman, MD, MBA, and “The Joint Commission Readiness” by Rick Curtis, RN, MS, CPHQ.
