NEWS Quantros Launches Web-Based Tool To Ease The
Burden Of New JCAHO Staffing Effectiveness Initiative
Quantros, a leading provider of web-based accreditation, compliance, and performance improvement solutions for the healthcare industry, has developed a first-to-market solution for hospitals to meet and exceed the requirements of the Joint Commission's new Staffing Effectiveness initiative. The initiative requires healthcare organizations to collect and trend data to support clinical, service, and human resource-related indicators beginning on July 1, 2002.
"To meet the requirements of JCAHO's Staffing Effectiveness initiative, hospital performance improvement and HR executives need a tool that allows them to both delegate data collection responsibilities to managers and monitor and analyze the data centrally. Most hospitals simply don't have the resources to dedicate an analyst to this new function and need a tool that maximizes existing resources. The Quantros tool can provide the easy-to-use and time-saving solution that they need," said Catherine Martin, Director of Performance Improvement for VHA West Coast.
The Quantros HR2.1 Staffing Effectiveness Solution combines web-based primary data collection with real-time analysis, reporting, and benchmarking on all 21 of JCAHO's screening indicators.
"Instead of hospital staff having to manually create, distribute, and aggregate many different spreadsheet templates, as some of our customers had planned, the Quantros HR2.1 Staffing Effectiveness Solution saves time by allowing them to choose indicators, assign data collection responsibilities, collect and report on data - all from one easy-to-use web-based platform," said Rajnish Mishra, MBA, PhD, President and CEO of Quantros.
The Quantros HR2.1 Staffing Effectiveness Solution gives healthcare organizations a structured approach to manage their performance. "Once we have used the Quantros tool to trend and set goals for our indicators, we will use its correlational analysis capabilities to understand how our HR, service, and clinical measures relate," said Julie Riddick, Director of Clinical Resource Management at Emanuel Medical Center, a Beta site for the tool.
The Quantros HR2.1 Staffing Effectiveness Solution will be available for license starting August 1, 2002. A future version of the tool will seamlessly pull data from payroll and other systems.
