Quantros Announces New MMSEA Manager to Support MMSEA Compliance

Quantros Releases MMSEA Manager Module to Complement the Safety and Risk Management Solution

October 19, 2009 - San Francisco, CA - Quantros has announced the release of the latest addition to the Safety and Risk Management (SRM) product family. The MMSEA Manager will facilitate the online reporting of claims data required by CMS for Medicare clients who are part of a lawsuit and/or an ongoing medical payment or settlement. The announcement is timely, with the fast approaching January first requirement for hospital providers to submit test files to CMS.

Specifically, the new SRM module helps organizations fulfill the complex reporting requirements laid out in Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA). Compliance with MMSEA is crucial - Responsible Reporting Entities (RREs) are subject to fines of $1000 per day per event for noncompliance or late reporting.

The MMSEA Manager was designed to work with the Quantros SRM™ solution, pulling information directly from the solution’s Claims Manager or Event Manager modules. However, manual data entry is supported as well.

Quantros President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjaya Kumar puts his company’s latest offering in perspective, “Quantros is dedicated to leveraging technology to support the patient safety and risk management efforts of healthcare providers. Helping those providers comply with new legislation is one more way to support their efforts.”
