Southeast Georgia Health System is using Quantros’ Outcome Analytics solutions to measure, manage, and monitor their healthcare delivery rating nearly two years ahead of the release of CMS data. By having this data in closer to real-time they are able to understand performance challenges and address those in advance of CMS releasing performance and assessing penalties.
In addition to using Quantros to identify areas of opportunity that CMS currently reports on, they were also able to find an opportunity with readmission and mortality rates for sepsis, a trending issue they believed needed focus. Using the data they were able to assess the root cause of the issue and implement strategies to improve performance in this area as well as monitor on an ongoing basis to prevent backsliding.
Additionally, the SGHS team is using Quantros solutions to measure clinically adjusted physician inpatient performance on total charge and cost per case, departmental charge and cost per case, gross margin per case, and length of stay. This data allows them to understand areas where they may not only have quality/outcomes improvement opportunity, but also cost and utilization reduction areas.
